PROGRAM OBJECTIVES
*To promote US-Japan relations by creating a short-term exchange between Japanese professionals and US undergraduates.

*To offer an in-depth, firsthand experience in Japanese language, culture, and career development.

*To provide future business partnership's network and to cultivate a good relationship among alumni of former and future Forval Foundation interns.

In an effort to give students the opportunity to broaden their perspective of Japan and to obtain practical work experience, the Forval Internship Program will initially focus on sponsoring college undergraduates who have completed their junior year and who are currently enrolled in Japanese language and culture classes.
In the future, the Foundation's goal is to offer internships to university students of all concentrations throughout the world.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION ( Job Experience Program )
The Forval Internship Program ( Job Experience Program ) is an eight-week paid internship in a Japanese company. The Foundation places each student in a host firm where they will have the opportunity to participate and contribute a member of that firm.

The internships will offer various types of experiences, depending on the Japanese company. Participants may be assigned a project in one department or be rotated through several departments. They may sit in on client meetings or be involved in the translation of documents. In any case, the success of the internship is up to the students-they should approach the experience with an open mind and make whatever is offered a learning experience.

Special social activities will also be arranged. These occasions will provide students with a chance to meet other Forval Internship Program participants and to compare the various experiences. Japanese university students will also be in attendance at these events to allow cultural exchange with fellow peers.
