国に独自な文化がありますように企業にも独自な文化があります。しかし、この文化は「創るものではなく培われていく」ものと思います。国、企業それぞれに発展する過程において文化は徐々に培われ形成され、それが伝統として花開いてくるものではないでしょうか。
フォーバルは、1980年9月に新日本工販という社名で資本金100万円、社員8名の企業を創業しましたが、以来「若さ、国際性、文化性」を企業コンセプトとして活動を展開してきました。この間、資本金も40億円を越え、また店頭市場に登録するなど順調に発展、創業11年目を期して社名を新日本工販からフォーバルに変更、新たな飛躍のスタートをきりました。
新社名「フォーバル」は「For Social Value」の意味で、時代のニーズに応えるべく変更したものです。つまり時代は国際的規模で経済主導の社会から市民主導の社会へと転換、企業も国際社会の市民企業として、その存在感が問われてきています。フォーバルは新社名の意義を活かすとともに、創業以来のコンセプトであります「文化性」を具現化し、これまで一般社会がフォーバルを市民企業として受け入れ、認知してくださったことに対する感謝の意味を込めまして、1991年
6月にフォーバルファンデーションを設立することにいたしました。
具体的な活動として、海外の大学生を日本企業に研修留学させます「フォーバルインターンシップ」と、若手バイオリニストにストラディヴァリウスを
2年間無償貸与する「フォーバルスカラシップ」の二つをすすめていきます。文化活動は、景気の好不況など環境の変化に左右されてはならないもので、地道に長く続けるところに意義があると考え、フォーバルという企業実態に即した息の長い活動をしていきたいと思っています。

Just as each country has it's own culture, in this
same fashion may an enterprise has it's own culture as well. This
culture can be seen as not something that was created for the
purpose of giving the company an identity, but as something that
cultivated itself naturally. In a country, enterprises may each
develop their own set of routines, these routines eventually becoming
a set of fixed patterns,which in turn result in the cultivation
and formation of what is known as a company's corporate culture.
This development is much akin to the blooming of a flower. In
the case of FORVAL this blooming occured on September 1980, when
a company with a starting base capital of 1 million yen and an
employee count of eight people known as the ''Shin-Nihon Koohan''
was inaugurated. Since then, youth, internationalism, and culture
have been employed as active concepts in our company. Forval presently
operates with capital exceeding 4 billion yen, and has established
a favorable presence in the telecommunications market.
After 11 years of operation under the previous name, a new name,
that of ''Forval'' was selected. The new company name, ''Forval''
is short for ''for social value'', and was changed in response
to the needs of the period. Just as the times have yielded changes
on an international scale, changes of an economic, social and
industrial kind, so in turn has industry and business, who although
being domestic operate within the framework of an international
society developed new feelings about their place amidst these
changes. The name ''Forval'' aside from bringing to life the new
company namesake, represents a variety of concepts, one of these
concepts being culture, yet many of these concepts have changed
in terms of what they represent since the company was originally
inaugurated. Having reached the point where Forval was recognized
as a public company, Forval wished to express it's gratitude for
such recognition and acceptance by establishing the Forval Foundation
on June 1991.
The foundation currently sponsors two programs, the first program
is the Forval summer internship program, which allows foreign
exchange students the chance to participate as interns in Japanese
companies. The second program is the Forval scholarship program,
structured in the form of a contest, allows the winner ( a violinist
) the privilege of borrowing a rare Stradivarius violin free of
charge for two years. In terms of how the company operates, whether
in the midst of a business boom or an economic downturn, or amongst
changes in the environment, Forval strives to be aware of and
adapt to the changing world of business, while not forgetting
the importance and meaning of what it is to operate in a just
and proper manner. Our hope is to enjoy a long and prosperous
life as a company.
Generally, the Foundation was given it's name with this concept
of ''proper'' operation, and at this time we ask for everyone's
support and understanding. |
